velamalaThe Pelješac Peninsula is second largest peninsula in Dalmatia, Croatia. Although a known tourist destination, it maintains a thriving agricultural industry in winemaking, stock breeding and fishing. The climate on the coasts is Mediterranean, and going further inland, it turns moderate continental. Pelješac Peninsula is surrounded by mountains, the winters are mild and windy and summers are hot and dry. Because of this climate, Pelješac is an ideal place for growing grapes and is known for its first class wines. Also in the area are gorgeous royal villas and historical churches.
Three kilometres west of the ancient town of Ston is Vela Prapratna Bay on Pelješac and is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic.  Known by its warm and crystal clear waters, the bay is surrounded by pine and olive trees. The Prapratna Bay in Pelješac has a campsite during the summer that attracts travellers and tourists alike.
